“We, who are many, are one body in Christ” ~Romans 12:5 (CEB)
To make disciples of Jesus Christ.
St. Paul’s is a welcoming broad-based community of faith that seeks to: center in Jesus Christ, engage the spiritual gifts of our people, and share the grace of God with all persons.
We will be an inclusive, diverse church loving others according to the teachings of Jesus and working for justice and peace in our world.
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church celebrates the sacred worth and value of all individuals. We welcome all who seek a home in this house of God with open hearts, open minds, and open doors. We invite people of every age, race, ethnicity, economic reality, family status, sexual orientation, gender identity, diverse ability, or legal status to join us on a journey toward full participation and service in Christ’s church.

St. Paul’s congregation first gathered in 1967 in the parsonage located at 1800 Red Coach Drive. Rev. William Wineberg met with families until we were large enough to move to the Peebles Fire Hall. The Evangelical United Brethren Church gave seven acres in Allison Park to the growing congregation. On September 10, 1967 – seven months before the Uniting Conference that would form The United Methodist Church as a new denomination – St. Paul’s UMC signed its charter as the first United Methodist church in the country.
Our building has always been considered a tool for ministry. The original building was constructed from prefab, trailer-like units. Additional building projects were completed in 1972, 1984, 1997, and 2001. The mortgage on our current building was paid off in July 2011 with generous gifts from Richard Conaway and Hester Munden.
As we live into the reality of no mortgage indebtedness, we become more focused on fulfilling our vision of becoming a broad-based community ministering to all. Missions, outreach, children, youth and building support will be emphasized as we seek to find ways to become the hands and feet of Christ in our community, nation and the world.
